During this panel talk, leading figures from the worlds of music, film, and culture will share their insights on the challenges and opportunities for artists working in complex political landscapes.

Panelists
Moderator: Rosh Abdelfatah – Director of the Arab Film Festival Rotterdam
Hannibal Saad – Musician and festival organizer dedicated to cultural exchange and the preservation of Syria’s musical heritage. His experience with international music events provides a unique perspective on the intersection of art, politics, and resilience.
Malaak Swed – Film producer and anthropologist who played a key role in documenting Syria’s revolutionary period through short films. Her work focuses on capturing and narrating the profound transformations in the country through cinema.
Reber Dosky – Dutch-Kurdish filmmaker known for his documentaries on Kurdish identity and broader societal issues. His award-winning film Radio Kobani sheds light on the aftermath of ISIS in Syria, highlighting the power of storytelling in post-conflict societies.
